Ropa Vieja Instructions
Sauté aromatics: Heat a little oil in a pan and cook the chopped onion and garlic until fragrant.

Add peppers: Add sliced bell peppers and cook until they begin to soften.

Add tomato sauce: Pour in the tomato sauce and stir to combine.
​
​
Season: Add salt, pepper, and optional spices like cumin or oregano.
​

Simmer the sauce: Let the mixture simmer for 5–10 minutes to develop flavor.
​
​
Add shredded beef: Stir in the 300g of shredded beef.
Mix and coat: Combine well so the beef absorbs the sauce.

Simmer again: Let everything cook together for another 10–15 minutes on low heat.
​
​
Adjust seasoning: Taste and adjust salt or spices as needed.
​
​
Serve: Portion into containers or serve hot with rice or tortillas.
